DRAM
Channel DRAM module demand remained weak this month, the selling price trend down.
DRAM suppliers tried to sell additional volume to module makers, but most of them didn’t have a well to accept the deal.
The selling price offering couldn’t guarantee profitability if module makers took those components.
In the Spot market, the 1Gbitx8 DDR4 white brand price down around 10%, and the 1Gbitx8 DDR4 original brand price down more than 15% this month.
We may expect ASP down further in the September timeframe.
Regarding the Consumer market, the demand is not well either, the end customer doesn’t like to pull the goods and the distributors’ inventory level hiked.
4Gb DDR3 original component spot price decreased more than 10%, 2Gb DDR3 market is better than 4Gb DDR3 with stable ASP this month.
Both PC and Server contract market demand is worse than the original plan, they adjusted their demand because of the lower than expected demand, IC shortage, and DRAM market toward downturn in this quarter.
The smartphone vendors keep promoting their products and trying to lower down their set inventory level.
Based on the current weak contract market demand and the suppliers’ production ability, we may expect the contract price would turn down in 4Q21.
NAND
Regarding the contract price, since suppliers have pressure to sell NAND into the channel market and the PC makers like to decrease their SSD inventory level.
The OEM Client SSD ASP would decline in 4Q21.
